It was actually quite a relief to have this photo taken. I'd been frantically packing materials to bring on the plane the next day for a big show in Berlin. The days leading up to this shoot were crazed, and I was juggling my teaching schedule at Columbia as well as a rehearsal schedule for an upcoming concert with my band as part of PERFORMA 07. So just to slow down, take a seat, put my feet up on a work table, and hold perfectly still for several four-second exposures helped me get centered for the rest of the day and put everything else into perspective.
