Brice Marden


It's late summer in Tivoli, New York, and I 'm putting the finishing touches on the recently completed Propitious Garden of Plane Image, Second Version, which was one of the concluding works in my Museum of Modern Art retrospective. I work the paintings leaning against the wall and only hang them when they are close to being done.

Ruby, my painting companion, takes interest only in resting.
