Jason shot this photograph for my exhibition Faux Real, at Deitch Projects. The exhibition featured a ceiling fresco inspired by Giambattista Tiepolo, of the Venetian school. Much of my work tries to capture the grandeur of Venetian painting, while poking fun at the master narrative. With this photograph, Jason has managed to capture a moment that positions me, the artist, in relation to the ceiling painting in a way that is both witty and inspired.
