Thomas Shutte

The first time I saw the feminine nudes of Thomas Schutte I thought that finally an artist of the 21st century had been able to express the concept of the nude and the body according to our time. His work is continuously developing by changing motives; it stands between architecture, sculpture, installations, and models. The sculpture in the photograph and his presence have a direct link with reality and leave open a game of interpretation with the spectator. Here, the artist stands between a sculpture that is ready to jump or fly (an uncertain world) and the reality of the portrait shown in the etching behind him.
